🌸 Jyeshtha Mahotsav – ‘Jeevanotsav’ 2026 🌸

Organized jointly by Prarambh Kala Academy, Pitambari Group, and the Rotary Club of Thane Central, Jyeshtha Mahotsav – Jeevanotsav 2026, held at Gadkari Rangayatan, was a truly unforgettable celebration of life, talent, inspiration, and respect for senior citizens. ❤️

More than 170 active senior citizens enthusiastically participated in a variety of competitions, showcasing their creativity, experience, confidence, and zest for life.

The audience was thoroughly entertained by Shri Mukund Jog’s delightful parody song performance, mesmerized by Vedashri Khadilkar Oak’s soulful presentation of Marathi musical theatre classics (Natyasangeet), and inspired by Aparna Bedekar’s thought-provoking talk, “Tinech Gagan Zheliyale.”

A special highlight of the event was the presentation of the Dr. Anand Nadkarni Memorial Awards, honouring distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to society. In addition, participants who have been a part of the Jyeshtha Mahotsav for six consecutive years were felicitated with the prestigious ‘Bahuman Medal’ in recognition of their continued enthusiasm and dedication.

The presence of eminent personalities including Alka Kubal, Makarand Anaspure, Ravindra Prabhudesai, Sachin Paithankar, and several other distinguished guests added immense grace and prestige to the celebration.

Thanks to the unwavering dedication of the entire Prarambh Kala Academy team and the wholehearted participation of every senior citizen, Jeevanotsav 2026 truly lived up to its name—a celebration of life in its fullest sense.

Jeevanotsav – Senior Citizens’ Festival

Yesterday, Prarambh Kala Academy, Thane, in association with Pitambari, successfully conducted the competition segment of Jeevanotsav, a festival dedicated to celebrating the spirit, talent, and enthusiasm of senior citizens. The event was held at the auditorium of Joshi-Bedekar College, Thane.

The prizes for the competitions were sponsored by Nisarga Herbs, while the Rotary Club of Thane Central partnered as the co-sponsor.

Despite heavy rainfall, nearly 100 senior citizens enthusiastically participated throughout the day, making the event a remarkable success.

The competitions were conducted in two age groups and included:

Light Music Competition
"My Favourite Teacher" (A Tribute to Memorable Teachers)
Variety Talent Competition

The Light Music Competition was judged by Prashant Kalundrikar and Hemant Sane. The Variety Talent Competition was evaluated by Bharti Joshi and Yamini Pangavkar, while Neelima Gajbhare and Bharti Mehta served as judges for the "My Favourite Teacher" competition.

The event was seamlessly hosted by Prarambh members Mansi Joshi, Ashwini Bhatwadekar, and Sagarika Mahadik.

The successful organization of the festival was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Vaishali Parad, Manisha Shitut, Manisha Acharya, Kirti Kerkar, Dr. Arundhati Bhalerao, Vaishali Kulkarni, and Tina Patil, along with the entire Prarambh team, who worked tirelessly to ensure every aspect of the event was managed efficiently.

The competitions commenced at 9:00 AM and concluded at 6:00 PM, with enthusiastic participation, memorable performances, and a wonderful celebration of talent and lifelong learning.

The program began with a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Anand Nadkarni, honouring his invaluable contributions and cherished legacy.

A truly memorable day celebrating the energy, creativity, and wisdom of our senior citizens.

Mother’s & Father’s Day – A Family Celebration

The beautiful evening of Sunday, 10th May 2026, brought with it a unique and uplifting energy into the temple of Goddess Saraswati. The occasion was the Mother’s and Father’s Day Celebration organized by Prarambh Kala Academy, Thane.

Through various activities and competitions, 110 senior members associated with Prarambh were invited to this special gathering. These elders are like parents to all of us, and with the noble intention of seeking their blessings and guidance in Prarambh’s journey, this warm family celebration was organized. The innovative idea conceived by Arundhati and her team deserves immense appreciation.

The welcome of the senior guests with fragrant champa flowers filled the entire atmosphere with warmth and positivity. Arundhati Bhalerao gave a brief introductory speech, after which the elders were traditionally welcomed with मंत्रोच्चार (Vedic chants), ceremonial aukshan, and a shower of rose petals. We were deeply moved by this heartfelt gesture.

We showered Arundhati and her entire team with blessings and good wishes. Respected dignitaries including Professor Shashikant Thombre (Arundhati’s father), D. K. Soman, Ashok Chitnis Sir, Mrs. Shubha Chitnis, Surendra Dighe from Jignyasa Trust, and Meera Korde from Saraswati Vidyamandir Trust shared their thoughts and reflected upon the values and teachings given by their parents.

Renowned orthopedic specialist Dr. Subodh Mehta and Shraddha Pendse, daughter of Professor Ashok Chitnis, also expressed their heartfelt thoughts about their parents. From among the audience, Vidyadhar Apashankar, Chandrakant Parab, and Lohkare Aaji shared touching memories of their mothers and fathers.

Well-known writer Pratibha Tai Saraf delivered a wonderful speech with references to her poetry. This unique Mother’s and Father’s Day celebration was graced by many distinguished guests, reflecting the love and affection people hold for Prarambh. Author Bharati Mehta, Sachin Pendse, and Sheela Wagle from Atre Katta were also present for the event.

Prarambh not only gifted us thoughtful presents and refreshments but also presented us with a deeply touching letter written by Prarambh Trustee Vaishali Kulkarni — a heartfelt letter beautifully scented with mogra flowers. Arundhati, along with the Prarambh family, will always have the blessings, support, and inspiration of these countless parents standing beside them.

The event was gracefully anchored by Neha Bagwe, a member of Prarambh. Mansi Joshi, Manoj Joshi, Kishore and Vaishali Parad, Vilas and Vaishali Kulkarni, Manish Yadav, and senior advisor Manisha Shitut worked tirelessly to make the event successful.

This celebration of affection, warmth, and relationships became truly unforgettable — almost like a grand celebration of gratitude itself.

ज्येष्ठ महोत्सव 2025

प्रारंभ कला आहे अकॅडमी आणि ए .बी इव्हेंट अँड मॅनेजमेंट या आमच्या संस्थेतर्फे काल पाचवा ज्येष्ठ महोत्सव अर्थात 'महोत्सव जेष्ठांचा नात्यांची वीण घट्ट करण्याचा'अतिशय उत्साहात सकाळी आठ ते रात्री आठ या वेळेत घाणेकर लघु नाट्यगृहामध्ये ठाणे येथे संपन्न झाला. विविध आठ स्पर्धांमध्ये दोनशेच्या वर जेष्ठांनी आपला सहभाग नोंदवला होता. प्रशांत राजे, अश्विनी घनवटकर, नीता माळी, मेघना साने, श्री शेजवलकर, आरती सूर्यवंशी, डॉ. नीतीबाला कुलकर्णी, स्वाती कुलकर्णी वैशाली कुलकर्णी, अल्पना टिपणीस व इतर परीक्षकांनी उत्तम रित्या परीक्षण केलं. सकाळी आठ ते दुपारी तीन या भिन्न स्पर्धा संपल्यानंतर, दुपारी चार वाजता प्रसिद्ध ढोलकी पटू अर्चना देशमुख आणि सहकारी भगिनींनी गायना सकट वाद्यांची जुगलबंदी सादर केली. अतिशय अप्रतिम अशा या कार्यक्रमाला सर्व ज्येष्ठ महिलां मंचावर येऊन तुफान नाचू लागल्या. त्यानंतर अनिल हर्डीकर यांचा विनोदी स्टॅन्ड अप कॉमेडी शो संपन्न झाला.

त्यानंतर साताऱ्याच्या निसर्ग हर्ब चे डॉक्टर आरती आणि देवेंद्र सोमण यांची मुलाखत आशुतोष भालेराव यांनी घेतली. त्यानंतर संपन्न झालेल्या बक्षीस वितरण सोहळ्याला रंगमंचावर प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री फैयाज, प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री ईला भाटे, वी.पी बेडेकर अँड सन्स चे अजित बेडेकर, डॉक्टर आरती सोमण पितांबरी उद्योग समूहाचे एच आर विभागाचे आमोद दांडेकर, नारायण कन्स्ट्रक्शनच्या शलाका कदम आयरेट्स बँक्वेट हॉलच्या सई आंबेकर आणि मी उपस्थित होतो. यावेळी विविध स्पर्धांचा बक्षीस वितरण सोहळा मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते संपन्न झाला. कॅश प्राईज सर्टिफिकेट सन्मानचिन्ह असं बक्षीस वितरण सोहळ्याचं स्वरूप होतं. याप्रसंगी नीता माळी यांनी संपूर्ण कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन केलं. आणि आरती दळवी यांनी पसायदान सादर करून पितांबरी निसर्ग हर्ब नारायण कन्स्ट्रक्शन आणि बेडेकर मसाले यांनी प्रायोजित केलेल्या या कार्यक्रमाला प्रेक्षकांनी भरभरून प्रतिसाद दिला. प्रारंभ कला अकॅडमीच्या संपूर्ण टीम न अतिशय उत्तम नियोजन करत हा कार्यक्रम संपन्न केला.

काही क्षणचित्र.

ज्येष्ठ महोत्सव,प्रारंभ नव्या युगाचा

डॉक्टर सौ अरुंधती भालेराव,यांच्या प्रारंभ अकॅडमी तर्फे काशिनाथ घाणेकर नाट्यगृह,वसंत विहार ठाणे येथे ज्येष्ठ महोत्सव साजरा झाला. बावीस वर्ष अरुंधती ताई या क्षेत्रात काम करत आहेत. नाट्यशास्त्रात त्यांनी पीएचडी केल्या असून खरोखर चांगली कार्यकर्ती समन्वयक अशी त्यांची ओळख आपल्याला आहे. आपल्या देशात ज्येष्ठांशी संख्या भरपूर वाढली आहे आणि ज्येष्ठांचे प्रश्न देखील वाढले आहेत. पण अशा वेळी एक आनंदाचा सुंदर शिडकावा, या कार्यक्रमात ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना मिळाला. प्रारंभच्या कार्यकर्त्यांचा प्रचंड उत्साह त्यांची एकजूट अप्रतिम होता. (सगळ्यांची नाव लिहिणं शक्य नाही.) एखाद्या मोठ्या हारात छोटी छोटी फुलं ओवावी हे सर्व कार्यकर्ते एकत्रित काम करत होते.

रोजच्या नैमित्तिक जीवनात विरंगुळा म्हणून बदल म्हणून, आम्ही महिला पुरुष ,वर्षभर महिला महोत्सव बाल महोत्सव आणि जेष्ठ महोत्सव या तिन्ही महोत्सवांची आतुरतेने वाट बघत असतो. अगदी दिवाळी दसऱ्याची वाट बघावी, तशी,आतुरता आम्हाला या उत्सवाची असते. कारण हा खरोखरच आमचा उत्सव असतो. आमचा सन्मान असतो.

अरुंधती भालेराव यांनी यावेळी आपल्या प्रारंभ या संस्थेच्या, सध्या अतिशय चांगले काम करत असलेल्यासंस्थेचे, भविष्यातील योजनांचं एक आकर्षक असं समाजसेवी चित्र आपल्या नजरेसमोर उभं केलं. तळागाळातील लोकांसाठी, शोषितांसाठीचा आधार,लसीकरण,कॅन्सर तपासणी,ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांसाठी मदत,आरोग्य, कला, विविध प्रश्नांसाठी मदत, महिला महोत्सव आणि बालकल्याण वगैरे या सर्व विषयातील त्यांनी त्यांचे विचार यावेळी व्यक्त केले.

यावर्षी ज्येष्ठ महोत्सव काशिनाथ घाणेकर येथे 28 जुलै 2024 रोजी सकाळी नऊ ते संध्याकाळी आठ पर्यंत साजरा झाला. दोन सत्रांमध्ये याचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते सकाळच्या सत्रात चुटकुले स्पर्धा, चारोळी स्पर्धाअनुभव कथन स्पर्धा, गीतगायन स्पर्धा, अशा स्पर्धा झाल्या. चक्क 200 हून अधिक जेष्ठ स्पर्धकांनी यात भाग घेतला. सकाळच्या सत्रात,आशीर्वाद देण्यासाठी डॉक्टर प्रदीप ढवळ थोड्या वेळासाठी येऊन गेले.

दुपारच्या सत्रात,सोपे सोपे खेळ, उदाहरणार्थ कवितेची ओळ वाचून कवी ओळखणे, कोडी अशा स्पर्धा झाल्या. ज्येष्ठ असूनही भाग घेणाऱ्यांचा उत्साह मोठा होता. त्यांची शारीरिक क्षमता बौद्धिक क्षमता आणि आनंद घेण्याची वृत्ती वाखाणण्यासारखी होती.खरोखरच सर्व प्रेक्षागृहातील जनता आनंदित होऊन गेली.या

दुपारच्या सत्रात मानसोपचार तज्ञ राजेंद्र बर्वे यांनी वार्धक्याला सामोरे जाताना,काय काय लक्षात ठेवाव,याचे मार्गदर्शन केले.नुसतं मार्गदर्शन करून ते थांबले नाही, तर त्यांनी एक पाच मिनिटाचे ताण निवारणासाठी प्रात्यक्षिक देखील करून घेतले.

त्यानंतर पुण्याहून आलेल्या, भिडे सर,साने दांपत्यांनी विनोदी विडंबन काव्याची मिसळ आम्हाला सादर केली. ती देखील ज्येष्ठांनी सादर केली तरी उत्साह, तरीही, ऑल,अतिशय बेस्ट होता. या कार्यक्रमाचे शेवटचे गाणे,'आयुष्याच्या या पडावा वर,साठाव वरिष्ठ धोक्याचं, यावर नृत्य देखील सादर करण्यात आलं.

या कार्यक्रमानंतर डॉक्टर शुभा चिटणीस आणि अशोक चिटणीस सर यांचा जीवन गौरव देऊन सत्कार करण्यात आला. चिटणीस सर हे शिक्षण क्षेत्रातले एक मोठं नाव आहे. असे अनेक विद्यार्थी अनेक क्षेत्रांमध्ये दूरवर पसरले आहेत.अशोक चिटणीस सर यांना अरुंधती भालेराव ह्या आपल्या कन्येप्रमाणे वाटतात. समाजाचं,समाजात सहवासात आलेल्या सर्व व्यक्तींचे ऋण आपल्यावर आहे, असे मनोगत श्री चीटणीस सर यांनी व्यक्त केले.डॉक्टर विनोद

इंगळहळीकर यांनी लिहिलेलं, सुबक सन्मान पत्र, त्याचे वाचन अरुंधती ताईच्या आवाजात बनवले होते,त्याची सीडी दाखवण्यात आली.

नीलम शिर्के सामंत, कांचन नितीन गडकरी, शारदा विनोद इंगळहळीकर,पितांबरीचे COO श्री. संतोष पालकर, डीपी म्हैसकर फाऊंडेशनच्या अध्यक्षा सुधाताई म्हैसकर यांचा सत्कार करण्यात आला.सर्वजणांनी उपस्थित जेष्ठ नागरिकांना छान मार्गदर्शन केले. कांचन ताई गडकरी यांनी तर चक्क प्रार्थना आणि एक गीत गाऊन दाखवल. आणि प्रारंभच्या कार्याला उत्स्फूर्तपणे पाच लाख 11 हजाराच डोनेशन जाहीर केलं. कांचन ताईंनी आपले,अरुंधती भालेराव यांच्या प्रारंभ संस्थेची असलेले भावनिक नाते यावेळी व्यक्त केले. नितीन गडकरी सर हे सिमेंटचे दगडा विटांचे पूल बांधतात, पण कांचन ताईंनी यावेळी मनामनांना जोडणारा पूल बांधला. त्यांनी यावेळी जी प्रार्थना म्हटली होती ती होती,

"हीच आमुची प्रार्थना,अन हेच माझे मागणे माणसाने माणसाशी माणसासम वागणे. "

या कार्यक्रमात आलेले सर्व मान्यवर,ह्याच ध्येय भावनेने झपाटलेले होते. नीलम शिर्के यांनी बाल महोत्सव आणि बालकांसाठी असलेल्या कार्यक्रमांचे बद्दल सांगितले.बालकांना ज्येष्ठांची माया ज्येष्ठांचे मार्गदर्शन हवं आहे,असं आदर्श वाक्य त्यांनी यावेळी व्यक्त केलं. समवयस्क आणि मैत्री भाव असलेल्या, बालकानी,ज्येष्ठांनी एकत्र यावं ही सद्भावना त्यांनी व्यक्त केली.

प्रारंभच्या 15 ऑगस्ट ला सुरू होणाऱ्या, नव्या पर्यावरण पूरक पिशव्या शिवणे आणि अन्य प्रोजेक्टसाठी तीन शिलाई मशीन त्यांनी देऊ केल्या.

याप्रसंगी भाषणात सुधाताई म्हैसकर यांनी सांगितलं की,

"माझं प्रारंभशी माझं नातं, पंधरा वर्षे जुनं आहे. मी डोंबिवलीत राहत असले,तरी अरुंधती ही माझी मानसकन्या ठाण्याला राहते. वृद्धापकाळ हा एक दुसरे बालपण असतं. (बालकांना दुधावरची साय म्हणावं,तर ज्येष्ठ नागरिक हे कंदीपेढ्यासारख घट्ट आटवलेला मावा असतात.) तर लहान मुलं आणि वृद्ध बालक आणि जेष्ठ नागरिक यांना,एकत्र, सहकार्याने,आनंदाने राहता यावं अशी आश्रम शाळा, सहनिवास वास्तू सुरू करावी,अशी सूचना सुधा ताई म्हैसकर, म्हैस कर फाउंडेशन यांनी केली.

प्रारंभच कार्य कौतुकास्पद आहेत त्यासोबत आलेले पाहुणे आणि मान्यवर यांचे मार्गदर्शन देखील लाख मोलाचे होते.

नात्याची वीण घट्ट करणाऱ्या या कार्यक्रमातून परत येत असताना डोळे पाण्याने भरून आले होते आणि पापण्या ओलावल्या होत्या.

Prarambh Kala Academy, Thane, organized the Jyestha Mahotsav 2023 for senior citizens aged 60 years and above, providing a vibrant platform to celebrate their talents, experiences, and lifelong achievements.

The festival featured a variety of competitions for senior citizens, and the winners were felicitated with prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances.

On 2nd July 2023, a special interactive program titled “Adapting to the New Generation” was conducted. The discussion focused on how senior citizens can build meaningful relationships with younger generations while embracing changing lifestyles and perspectives.

The distinguished panel included Dr. Vinod Ingalhalikar, Dr. Sharda Ingalhalikar, Mr. Ashok Chitnis, Dr. Shubha Chitnis, Mrs. Pratibha Gopujkar, and Mr. Virendra Gopujkar. The session was moderated by journalist Mandar Phanse, who facilitated an insightful and engaging conversation.

Another special session, “Ahe Manohar Tari…”, featured inspiring conversations with Dr. Anil Tambe, Mr. Balwant Karve, Mrs. Swati Sanjay Dhanvade, and Mrs. Neha Pednekar. The interviews were conducted by Dr. Arundhati Bhalerao on the theme:

“Supporting and Caring for One’s Life Partner with Strength, Compassion, and Responsibility.”

The cultural segment of the festival included “Loksangeetachi Khamang Misal” (A Flavorful Blend of Folk Music), presented by Professor Shivaji Waghmare and his team from the Department of Folk Arts, University of Mumbai. Their vibrant performance showcased the richness and diversity of Maharashtra’s folk music traditions.

The festival concluded with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony, graced by distinguished guests including renowned actress Usha Nadkarni, acclaimed actor Sunil Godbole, and Mr. Ravindra Prabhudesai, Director of Pitambari. The winners of the various competitions were felicitated by the dignitaries in recognition of their exceptional performances and enthusiastic participation.

Prarambh Kala Academy, Thane, organized the Jyestha Mahotsav 2022 for senior citizens aged 60 years and above, celebrating their talents, creativity, and enthusiasm.

As part of the festival, a variety of competitions were conducted on 2nd July, providing senior citizens with an opportunity to showcase their skills. The competitions included Poetry Recitation, Light Music Singing, Instrumental Music, and Storytelling, with enthusiastic participation from senior contestants.

On 3rd July, Mr. Mukund Jog presented his entertaining musical program "Sangeet Misal," a unique blend of music, humor, and parody that delighted the audience.

The festival also featured an engaging interactive session titled "Manmoklya Gappa" (Heart-to-Heart Conversations) on the theme "Living Life with Passion." The discussion brought together distinguished personalities including senior actor Sunil Godbole, veteran actress Vandana Marathe, and Dr. Jayshree Godse, who shared their inspiring life experiences, thoughts, and perspectives on embracing life with enthusiasm, purpose, and positivity.

The event successfully created a joyful platform for senior citizens to celebrate their talents, engage in meaningful conversations, and strengthen social connections while enjoying memorable cultural experiences.

Jyestha Mahotsav – July 2021

Prarambh Kala Academy, Thane, in association with Pitambari and Bhumi World, organized a free online Jyestha Mahotsav for senior citizens aged 60 years and above from 2nd to 4th July 2021.

The three-day festival featured a variety of engaging activities and "Me Time" events designed especially for senior citizens. A total of 179 senior participants enthusiastically took part in the competitions, and 20 winners were selected for prizes. The competitions were judged by Chandrakant Gharote and Deepti Joshi.

The festival also showcased a range of entertaining and enriching cultural programs. Rajendra Tak presented "Shivrahasya," a captivating performance that highlighted significant events from the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

A melodious Musical Theatre Evening featured beautiful performances by Hema Upasani, Jashan Bhumkar, and Ashwini Khaparde, who presented a selection of popular Marathi Natya Sangeet compositions.

The informative session "May My Life Continue Through Yours" was conducted by Pushpa Agashe, who spoke about the importance of organ donation, creating awareness about its life-saving impact.

As part of the "Rokhthok Ushakal" series on the entertainment industry, veteran actress Usha Nadkarni participated in a candid and engaging interview conducted by Dr. Arundhati Bhalerao, Founder and Director of Prarambh Kala Academy.
